Freddie Mac Multifamily hosted the 2024 Diverse & Emerging Sponsor Forum on April 3 to continue bridging the knowledge, relationship and financing gaps within the multifamily industry.

During the event, the Freddie Mac Multifamily team provided the 2024 Diverse & Emerging Sponsor cohort with an overview of our business to help build their knowledge and understanding of loan originations via the Optigo® lender network, credit policies, pricing, surveillance, servicing and more. There was also an open forum where the sponsors comprising the 2024 cohort discussed key challenges they are facing in the market, and a networking reception to strengthen relationships between cohort members — directly tying into the three gaps.

As part of the secondary mortgage market, Freddie Mac does not often have the occasion to hear sponsors’ experiences firsthand, so this was a great opportunity to gather feedback on the industry gaps, build each other’s networks and knowledge share.

Thank you to the following members of the 2024 Diverse & Emerging cohort who joined for the day: A. Walker & Company, Alexander Goshen, Atlantica Properties, Bedrock Real Estate Investors, Bridging the Gap Development, LLC, BrookWynn Capital, Cornerstone Strategic Partners, Cubed Partners, Dimes Capital Group, Elevate Commercial, Ernst Equities, FLGA Real Estate Group, Forward Community Investments, Infinite Horizons, Inside-Out Construction, LLC., James River Housing Partners, Kalel Companies, Lifesperity Capital Group Inc., McClendon Capital Group, Morningstar Community Development, Square and Lot, The Streamwood Company, TRG Investments LLC, Tripod Properties, Vantage Capital Advisors, and Yoke Management Partners .

The work toward building a more equitable multifamily industry is far from done. Freddie Mac is committed to actively collaborate with the 2024 cohort throughout the year, both in-person and virtually — and discover ways the industry can support increasing opportunities for diverse and emerging sponsors.
