Debby is our business head, responsible for the success of Freddie Mac Multifamily. She leads a team of over 900 people in the Multifamily line of business, providing liquidity and stability to multifamily mortgage markets, supporting affordable rental housing, and building a sound operating business that has produced consistent economic returns at minimum risk for U.S. taxpayers. Debby is a frequent spokesperson on the condition, challenges and future of multifamily housing in the United States.
John is our main voice in the origination market and defines the customer service culture at Freddie Mac Multifamily. He leads the production and sales teams that purchase conventional, small balance and seniors multifamily mortgages. John also manages our network of approved lenders, shapes our competitive position in the marketplace, and works directly with lenders and Borrowers on individual deals. John has worked in commercial real estate since the 1980s.
Robert heads the Multifamily Capital Markets team, which includes loan pricing, structuring and securitization activities for all multifamily loan purchases. He is the senior relationship manager with securities investors, credit rating agencies and the broker/dealer community. Additionally, he leads and ensures the strategic alignment between the portfolio management and the research and modeling teams within Multifamily. Robert, a veteran of the commercial mortgage-backed securities industry, has been instrumental in developing new securities structures and capital markets innovations for Freddie Mac Multifamily.
Steve's team manages the credit and underwriting process across all Multifamily business lines, working with approved Seller/Servicers, their Borrowers, and our production and sales staff to source a steady flow of high-quality loans to Freddie Mac Multifamily. Over the years, Steve has played an integral role in creating process efficiencies, providing new offerings for our customers, and re-orienting the underwriting model to produce loans for securitization, chiefly through our K-Deal program.
Leanne leads a team responsible for the operations of our servicing portfolio, ensuring sound business management and a responsive experience for customers. Her team manages our loan purchases and funding, investor reporting and remitting, the cash desk, records and data management, and operational close. Also within her scope: managing Seller/Servicer eligibility, performance and audit reviews, and the Multifamily Seller/Servicer Guide.
Bill is the chief financial officer of Freddie Mac Multifamily, responsible for our accounting and financial reporting. Bill and his team partner with corporate and Multifamily stakeholders to provide integrated results and forecasts of our business, represent our performance in corporate financial statements, and report our progress to the board of directors and corporate senior management. Bill is a certified public accountant and holds the chartered financial analyst designation.
Kelli is responsible for overseeing originations across the Central Region. She manages a production team located in Chicago and in the Texas offices of Austin, Houston and Dallas. She also serves as Freddie Mac’s student housing representative for the Central and Western Regions.
Alex leads the risk distribution and credit group responsible for providing an underwriting bridge between origination and capital markets activities at Freddie Mac Multifamily and for managing the credit policy governing all origination activity. He has helped build a strong credit culture and develop the infrastructure around asset-level due diligence for the K-Deal program from its earliest days. Alex has worked in commercial real estate underwriting, securitization and credit risk management since 2004.
Melissa is the Business Technology Officer responsible for developing and executing the long-term road map and technology strategy for the Multifamily line of business. She also oversees application development and implementation, and maintenance services. Melissa and her team facilitate our continued progress in developing a higher-performing solution delivery, with a primary focus on enabling business results.
Pamela leads the Special Servicing and Surveillance teams. This includes Asset Resolution & REO, post-closing Borrower Transactions, Guarantor Risk, Valuation & Physical Risk, and Risk Ratings. In addition, her team interacts with primary, master and special servicers and Directing Certificateholders to provide a high level of customer service for borrowers.
Lauren is vice president of production & sales for Freddie Mac Multifamily. She leads two distinct production & sales groups: (1) the Structured Transaction Group works with Seller/Servicers and their Borrowers nationwide to develop creative and unique structures to meet borrowers’ evolving needs; and (2) Production Operations, which includes division-wide process improvements and internal and external performance goals. Lauren joined Freddie Mac in 2004 with prior experience in consulting.
Peter leads our Western Region team that works with approved Seller/Servicers for conventional loans and their borrowers to source loans to Freddie Mac Multifamily. He also leads a team supporting Seniors Housing. Peter joined Freddie Mac Multifamily in 1998, with prior experience in the commercial mortgage banking industry.
Steve leads multifamily related research at Freddie Mac. In this role he performs research related to national and market-specific multifamily conditions. His team supports the multifamily business by developing models and quantitative approaches that determine risk-based capital allocations. The models capture loan level risks and also the benefits of the diversification and structural credit support for pools of multifamily mortgages, supporting the core business strategies of Freddie Mac Multifamily.
Stephen leads all aspects of our Small Balance Loan business, which provides liquidity and stability to the small multifamily rental market—an essential source of our nation’s workforce housing. Stephen oversees the development and implementation of innovations that improve the speed and flow of capital nationwide, and address the rapidly evolving needs of Borrowers in this space. Stephen also oversees small balance loan lender relationship and performance management.
As Vice President of Operational Risk, Michael leads the first line of defense risk management for financial crimes, privacy and information security, business resiliency, vendor management and compliance with regulatory requirements. Mike and his team establishes the risk direction by aligning the Multifamily Governance Framework with the business operating model. He continually improves governance by understanding the multifaceted drivers that effect risk environment.
David is our lead for managing the relationships, transactions and deal negotiations for the Freddie Mac Multifamily affordable housing business. David has extensive national leadership experience in multifamily lending and tax credit equity products, as well as established relationships with many of our customers. David not only leads the Targeted Affordable Housing business, but also acts as thought leader for Freddie Mac on issues related to affordable housing policy and pursuing opportunities for innovation in the affordable housing arena.
Rich leads our teams in the Northeast and Southeast Regions that work with approved Seller/Servicers for conventional loans and their borrowers to source loans to Freddie Mac Multifamily. He also serves as Freddie Mac's student housing representative for the Northeast and Southeast regions.
Carl is responsible for all loan servicing operations and loan administration. He joined Freddie Mac as a Mortgage Purchase Analyst in the Single Family Division in 2000. Over the years, he supported Single Family Data Quality and Mission/Affordable Housing. He later became an Operational Risk Manager, where he helped manage, and eventually directed, operational risk across various Single Family and Multifamily operational risk types and internal organizations, identifying risks and controls, measuring and reporting on the risks, monitoring and holding capital for these risks, and establishing sound governance over operational risk.
Susan leads the functions of offerings management, regulatory relations, business communications and customer marketing. Susan and her team facilitate the development of business strategy, work with our regulator, coordinate how we bring new initiatives to market, and manage our brand, websites, events and training.
Tim heads the team of multifamily lawyers who support the purchase and securitization of our loans. Tim and his team work directly with our lenders and Borrowers on the contractual terms of new loan purchases. The Legal team also is responsible for ensuring compliance with securities law for our mortgage securities, and they provide strategic counsel to management on business and regulatory matters.
Ian is the vice president of underwriting for Conventional Loans for the Central and Southeast regions, working with Seller/Servicers and Borrowers, and our production and sales staff to ensure the quality of Freddie Mac Multifamily loans. Ian also takes part in overseeing large regional pool transactions across the country, balancing credit risk management and finding innovative solutions for sponsors and lenders.
Victor manages our portfolios of multifamily mortgage debt outstanding, including our guaranteed portfolio and all multifamily agency and non-agency mortgage backed securities. This involves managing whole loans and securities while they are in our retained portfolio through the buy-hold-trade strategies. Victor and his team also manage the valuation, hedging and disposition of all multifamily retained portfolio assets, provide the business with a wide variety of analytics, manage capital allocations, and produce research papers on current trends in multifamily real estate and mortgage markets.
As the head of specialty products underwriting, Mike focuses on strengthening relationships with lenders and borrowers. Since joining our underwriting management team, Mike has been instrumental in the launch of several vital risk transfer capabilities, including our K-Deal and securitization programs. Mike also helped start our Small Balance Loan program.
