The Multifamily Transformer
Naureen Versi is a business transformation manager for the Targeted Affordable Housing (TAH) business.
Born in Porterville, California – a small town between Fresno and, well, nowhere – Naureen has lived in Richmond, Virginia since her family moved there when she was eight years old. She enjoys the hustle and bustle of urban life but always returns to sleepy Porterville when she needs to unwind and escape the traffic-fueled beltway lifestyle.
Naureen joined Freddie Mac after graduating from James Madison University, where she majored in Finance – she also has a Masters in Innovation and minor in humanitarian studies. Her first year, she worked in Single-Family Operations at Freddie Mac, which was interesting and new but didn’t scratch her real estate and humanitarian itches, so she kept looking.
She found her sweet spot in Multifamily, with its affordable, workforce housing-based mission and focus on real estate development, which has always interested her. Her first stop was in underwriting for TAH, where she learned the ins and outs of our affordable business for four years.
Naureen moved to the TAH Community Mission team three years ago, where she focuses on drafting and implementing our Duty to Serve plan. She plays a vital role in structuring new products, and improving existing ones, to meet customer needs and expand our footprint. It’s the perfect job that blends her passions and skillset.
In her current role, she gets to work with all stakeholders to solve a puzzle – how to get the deal done. She can’t stomach leaving a promising deal on the table, so she strives to find cheaper, more efficient executions where all parties are satisfied – that’s when she’s happiest. Who doesn’t love a happy ending?
